The African American Policy Forum and The Center for Intersectionality and Social Policy Studies launched the #SayHerName campaign in December 2014 to bring awareness to the names and stories of Black women and girls who have been victimized by racist police violence and to provide support to their families. Black girls as young as 7 and black women as old as 93 have been killed by the police. To lift up their stories, America must know who they are, how they lived, and why they suffered at the hands of the police. Kimberlé Crenshaw, the founder of AAPF and CISPS and propeller of the movement, acknowledges that black women are not murdered by police as often as black men; nevertheless, she stresses that this does not provide sound or logical reasoning for overlooking them and that people should recite victims’ names and give their cases the recognition they deserve.

Our medium to full-bodied red blend is a rich, balanced blend of four red wines: Zinfandel, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. Our red blend shows bright cherry and opulent black currant fruit on the palate with notes of baking spice and dried herbs, finishing with ripe tannins. Though the alliteration of the “S” in “Sweet” creates a poetic sound, this blend is not a sugary sweet dessert nor port wine. Since our wine is not high in residual sugar nor fermented with added alcohol or sulfur dioxide like many sweet wines, it is medium-dry/off-dry, which is considered on the sweeter side of red dinner wines.
All red meats, as well as all poultry, are good wine pairings. It’s the perfect addition to meals that include smoked and cured meats. Enjoy with a mezze of hard cheese such as cheddar and blue cheese as well as tomato pasta dishes, vegetables, and even cheeseburgers.
